FEVER 104…Its all about the music. FEVER 104 is the new sound in town, launched by Hindustan Times Media Limited in association with Virgin radio. A vibrant, slightly irreverent, cheeky, youthful, creative, clean & pure radio brand. We play non-stop music for 40 minutes with all the listener’s favorite contemporary hits, in English and Hindi, packed in. What’s more there is less talk, fewer ads and really exciting on air promotions. It’s really all about the music.

Work closely with the team leader on all matters related to the sale of airtime for the station. Enhances revenue through direct sales w/advertising agencies and clients.

Tasks
  • Enhance revenue through direct sales w/advertising agencies and clients
  • Create, maintain and enhance relationships with accounts in identified categories.
  • Develop relationships with business clients, in and out of present client categories.
  • Devise and deliver presentations to demonstrate the value of the Station's dominating and specialized consumer market while referencing syndicated research data such as Nielsen, etc.
  • Optimise current agency and client relationships
  • Function strategically and tactically to position the Station to dominate the radio space.
  • Develop sales plans and goals by studying and understanding the station's market and seek approval all sales promotion campaigns from the Sales Head
  • Determine price schedules and discount rates in tandem with the Station Head and Sales Head.
  • Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
  • Monitor and analyse sales and marketing activity against goals.
  • Scan the environment to gain insights into competitor strategies, potential business opportunities and market trends.

  • Be constantly aware of new trends in media.
  • Identify and resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.

MBA
Experience
Min 4-5 years of advertising sales experience – radio or broadcasting experience would be an advantage.
 
Position Advertised For Music Manager
REPORTS TO Program Director
Location Kolkata
PURPOSE OF ROLE
  • Responsible for identifying appropriate musical selections to air on the station, and managing the task of scheduling the music for the Station. Also always ensures the music log generated each day is of the highest quality.
  • Responsible for the entire output which includes – songs , scheduling of promotions and spots.
Responsibility Scheduling Music / On-air output
Tasks
  • Ensure on-air sound of the radio station is in keeping with the programming philosophy and guidelines.
  • Generate a complete and error-free music log for playback in the on-air studio for every day of the week. Compilation of Music Features/Charts
  • Manage the music/RCS database and ensure the smooth operation of the scheduling software.
  • Liase with the Commercial Traffic Manager about various commercial inventory requirements as needed.
  • Liase with the manufacturer of the music scheduling software to ensure continuous operation of the system.
  • Selection of listener requests/activities in conjunction with the Programme/Station Manager.
  • Liase and compile Music play-list in conjunction with Presenters
  • Assist the On-line web dept on the music section.
  • RCS Maintenance
  • Competition Tracking on music play-out by the various stations (via AIRCHECK)
Performance standards
  • All music logs generated by music scheduling software are of the highest quality with no errors.
  • All music logs have a high degree of music familiarity in each hour.
  • All active music categories are of the appropriate size in accordance to and match the programming strategy.
  • All songs are correctly coded in the music scheduling system.
Responsibility Database & Library Management
Tasks
  • Meet with Record Label representatives on a regular basis.
  • Ensure all music received by the station, is catalogued and stored appropriately, into identifiable categories for on-air rotation
  • Liase on a weekly basis with the Program Director on the status of the active music play-list.
  • Ensure all songs that are added, replaced or deleted from the Music scheduling software is in keeping with the radio stations programming strategy and guidelines.
  • Co-ordinate with the Program Director for music research studies.
  • Catalogue new music on a weekly basis
Performance standards
  • Music Play-lists are of a high quality and are freshened regularly in accordance with the programming strategy
  • 'Auditorium Music Testing' is adhered to

Liase with record companies to ensure availability of the “right” music at the appropriate time for the Station.
